The future of storage and how it is shaping our roadmap

This talk will cover storage industry trends and how they are affecting the Red Hat storage roadmap, over both the short and long term. This will include hardware trends (e.g., the move to all-flash storage devices, persistent memory, the looming demise of hard drives, and storage fabrics) and changing software architectures (e.g., object storage, containerization, application orchestration, and multi- and hybrid cloud portability).

We’ll look at what this means for the Red Hat storage software portfolio (including Linux kernel storage infrastructure, Ceph, and Gluster) and the broader Red Hat portfolio (including OpenShift and OpenStack), and conclude with a deep dive on what the Ceph project is doing to adapt to a changing industry.
